Daliā€™s creative secret is indeed scientific šŸ˜“

Salvador Dali had a peculiar way of refreshing his mindā€”something he called ā€œslumber with a key.ā€ He described how it worked in his 1948 book 50 Secrets of Magic Craftsmanship. It involves a bony armchair, a heavy key, a plate and a small snooze.

Iā€™m no Dali BUT I have always solved creative problems using sleep, or at least often the moments between being awake and sleepingā€¦.I pop a problem in my brain and then actively ā€˜dreamā€™ on it. So many creative ideas or proposals have suddenly been solved the next morning. I swear by it.

Daliā€™s ā€œslumber with a keyā€ mystical method of creativity has been in some way vindicated by science. Read more here.

Fashion šŸ‘˜

I love the way that fashion can dictate trends and vice versa, I have always felt that knowing whatā€™s happening in the fashion world has impacted how I view or predict trends and behaviour online in my work. The intersection between music, culture and fashion is fascinating.

I loved this reel about Hakama, Japanese Philosophy and Autobiographical design. Itā€™s super interesting. (Thanks Terry for the discovery!)

Oh Susan šŸ¦Ž

I love Will McPhailā€™s work, I first spotted his cartoons in the New York Times. This one makes me laugh and laugh.

Clever Dog! šŸ¶

As if we needed more reasons to love them.

Cough cough!

šŸ„ A man walked into his home to realise all his lamps were stolen.
He was delighted.
